Where your voice is brewed into everything we do.

At Starbucks, we're all about you.

As part of this role, you'll be responsible for providing day-to-day commercially focused legal support across assigned workstreams, enabling the business to meet regional and company strategic business priorities whilst appropriately managing risk through efficient and commercially practical decision-making.

You will work across EMEA and the UK, bringing general commercial legal expertise on matters across both regions applying strong judgement and commercial awareness to support business growth, manage legal risk, and deliver business-focused solutions.

We'll look to you to bring your general commercial legal experience and have confidence to operate across a wide range of legal areas and able to flex and lead across different workstreams in a fast-paced environment.

You will apply sound judgement to varied and evolving business needs, rather than working within a narrow specialism which will be leveraged through the global legal functions and/or external counsel.

Given the breadth of responsibilities and level of expertise required, you will have a minimum of five years' post-qualification experience (PQE) gained within a commercial law firm and/or an in-house legal environment.

About

The best part about this role is that no two days are ever the same! Working as our corporate counsel, you'll get involved in:

  • Owning and delivering day-to-day legal support across assigned workstreams, providing practical, commercially focused advice to business stakeholders across a broad range of matters
  • Leading legal input on defined areas of work, operating independently while aligning with Senior Corporate Counsel, Director Corporate Counsel, and escalating more complex or high-risk matters where appropriate
  • Using global templates, playbooks, and contracting frameworks to manage standard agreements efficiently and consistently
  • Partnering with Senior Corporate Counsel and Director on more complex, strategic, or high-risk issues, contributing insight and supporting decision-making
  • Partnering with global legal stakeholders and managing external counsel engagement as required, including coordinating specialist support and ensuring alignment to business needs
  • Maintaining strong governance and operational discipline, including accurate contract management, matter tracking, and supporting delivery of an efficient, scalable and highly focused legal support model
  • In return, we'll offer you a competitive salary and benefits that include:
  • 25 days holiday a year (plus Bank Holidays)
  • Up to 10% bonus
  • Flexible benefits - in addition to the benefits listed here we'll also provide you with an additional 4% to allow you to select the benefits that suit you

  • Free bag of coffee each week and a 30% partner discounts on food, beverages, and merchandise
  • Discounts with local and national retailers (cell phones, gym memberships, entertainment tickets, hotels, etc.) through Perks at Work platform
  • Subscription to Headspace
  • Home Sweet Loan (Interest-free loans that can be paid back over 12 months to help pay your rental deposit)
  • Bean stock options for all partners (own part of Starbucks!)
  • A free 24/7 Employee Assistance Programme available to you and your family
