This is a fantastic opportunity for a senior person to support a dynamic commercial team for this specialist consulting firm. They provide a range of strategic analytical services centred on leading-edge AI to major corporates and academics across the world, often based on complex and business-critical scenarios.
Commercial operations is centred around their sales and business development team which is highly specialised, managing the full-range of client-facing services from marketing, lead generation, bid-writing, commercial contracts, forecasting, reporting and hand-over to delivery teams. As Commercial Operations Manager (i.e. Sales Operations) you will work alongside them to support, streamline and optimise all their activities.
This is a highly sophisticated business, based on best industry practice, and you will be accountable for developing, evolving and maintaining the commercial processes that underpin this standard of operation. The role:
- Assess, define and realign all sales processes and assure best practice throughout.
- Embed processes within CRM framework and establish dashboards for key metrics across the entire CRM process.
- Analysis and reporting on metrics helping to identify trends, opportunities and potential issues.
- Input to and output from CRM across entire commercial process, constantly seeking opportunities for process improvements and increased efficiencies.
- Assure effective collaboration with associated internal and external teams to optimise successful project outcomes.
- Work closely with the sales, legal and commercial teams in the sales process, gathering input for bid-writing, commercial content and legal review.
- Liaison with legal team for contract reviews reporting back on business risk, compliance and accurate reflection of sales conclusions.
- Oversight of all bid content in terms of design, accuracy, compliance, timescales and relevance.
- Maintain a bid library of leading-edge and compelling content collaborating with internal subject matter experts.
What we need:
- Strong sales ops track record supporting a business development function covering all stages in the CRM process.
- This must have concerned supporting sales of complex solutions for business strategy or technical consulting.
- Evidence of being strongly process-led with experience of redefining and implementing process change to meet business needs.
- Highly numerate and excellent attention to detail, especially around the written word.
- Excellent grasp of contracts and ability to credibly bridge the sales function with legal, financial and delivery teams.
- Strong evidence of implementing and maintaining operational excellence across the sales function.
- Superb influencing and communication skills and ability to juggle many projects simultaneously.
- Degree in business or STEM subject.
In return you will receive an earnings in the region of £55,000 per annum, a small bonus plus an excellent pension. The organisation is based in the South East of England however the role can be 100% home-based.
