Overview for the Paralegal Our client is a highly regarded law firm based in the West Midlands, is seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Criminal Law Paralegal/Admin to join our Client’s legal team. The ideal candidate will assist solicitors in providing exceptional legal support in criminal law matters, ensuring that all documentation is prepared accurately and efficiently. This role requires strong organisational skills, excellent communication abilities, admin skills and proficiency in various office software applications. Responsibilities for the Paralegal * Assist solicitors in the preparation of legal documents, including petitions, motions, and correspondence related to criminal law cases. * Conduct legal research and gather relevant information to support case preparation. * Maintain and organise case files, ensuring all documents are up-to-date and easily accessible. * Communicate effectively with clients, witnesses, and other parties involved in criminal law matters. * Manage schedules and deadlines for court filings and client appointments. * Utilise Microsoft Office applications such as Word, Excel, and Outlook for document preparation and communication. * Handle confidential information with discretion and maintain client confidentiality at all times. * Assist in the billing process by tracking billable hours and preparing invoices as required. Qualifications for the Paralegal * Previous experience as a paralegal or in a legal support role is preferred but not essential. * Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook) is required. * Strong time management skills with the ability to prioritise tasks effectively. * Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English. * Strong IT skills with the ability to adapt to new software quickly. * Exceptional organisational skills with a keen attention to detail. * A proactive approach to problem-solving and a willingness to learn about family law practices.
