An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Food Product Manager to join a fast-growing international consumer products business operating across multiple retail categories. The company partners with major retailers to develop innovative own-label and branded products, with a strong focus on trend-led product development and category innovation.
This is a hands-on role suited to someone passionate about food innovation, product development and bringing commercially successful products to market within the ambient grocery, healthy snacking, or confectionery sectors.
The Opportunity
You will play a key role in developing and optimising products across a fast-paced food division, taking ownership of projects from concept through to launch. Working closely with internal teams, suppliers, manufacturers and retail customers, you will combine creativity with commercial awareness to deliver innovative, high-quality products that align with evolving consumer trends. This role offers genuine autonomy and the chance to influence future category direction through strategic innovation and insight-led development.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the development of innovative food products from concept through to launch
- Create and refine formulations to achieve targets around taste, quality, nutrition, functionality and cost
- Conduct benchmarking, tasting sessions and product evaluations
- Analyse market and consumer trends to identify new product opportunities
- Manage product samples, supplier communication and customer submissions
- Coordinate cross-functional teams including technical, commercial, supply chain and design
- Build and manage detailed project timelines and critical paths
- Support factory trials, product testing and quality reviews
- Deliver engaging product presentations and innovation proposals to stakeholders
- Drive category innovation strategies and support long-term product planning
About You
- 5+ years’ experience within Food Product Development / NPD
- Strong background within ambient grocery, snacking, confectionery, or related FMCG categories
- Experience developing products from concept to launch
- Confident in managing multiple projects simultaneously in a fast-paced environment
- Strong understanding of recipe development, formulation and food trends
- Experience working cross-functionally with technical and commercial teams
- Familiarity with nutritional analysis tools such as NutriCalc or similar
- Commercially aware with excellent communication and presentation skills
- Passionate about innovation, nutrition and emerging consumer trends
