A refurbishment in the region of £214,250 is planned for the Wheatsheaf, Woodplumpton, transforming it into a contemporary premium local that reflects the heritage of the property, with a strong focus on home-cooked food, outstanding service and its role at the heart of the village. What would you do with this pub to make it a success? About the area The Wheatsheaf is located in the rural village of Woodplumpton and is the only pub in the village, serving both Woodplumpton and the surrounding hamlets. Around 369 adults live within walking distance, while there are no competing pubs within a 20-minute walk, making the Wheatsheaf an important part of the local community. The pub currently has an opportunity to attract more destination visits. Following the refurbishment, it will be repositioned as a reinvigorated premium local, appealing particularly to families and casual diners as well as customers looking to watch sport and enjoy key events. With refreshed surroundings, a stronger food proposition and a renewed focus on community occasions, the Wheatsheaf has the opportunity to become a true "pub as hub" for the village while also attracting customers from further afield.
