We're recruiting for a Senior Fire Technician to join our team in Glasgow
The successful candidate will be able to work independently and as part of a team, delivering exceptional customer service with a ‘safety first’ attitude.
They will be able to service a wide range of firefighting equipment.
Duties will include
- Performing installations on ships across the UK and occasionally Europe
- Undertaking repairs, and maintenance on various types of FFE equipment either on site or in our factory.
- Diagnose and troubleshoot issues with equipment and systems.
- Conduct regular inspections to identify potential problems and recommend solutions.
- Provide excellent customer service by addressing client concerns and ensuring satisfaction.
- Maintain accurate records of work performed and parts used.
- Collaborate with team members to complete projects efficiently and effectively.
The successful applicant will have
- Strong technical knowledge in FFE equipment repair and maintenance with a BAFE qualification.
- Experience of fire suppression systems, breathing apparatus, EEBD, fire extinguishers etc.
- Proficient in reading and interpreting technical manuals and diagrams.
- Excellent problem-solving skills to diagnose issues and implement solutions.
- Strong attention to detail to ensure accurate repairs and installations.
- Effective communication skills to interact with clients and team members.
- Ability to work independently, proactively planning jobs to ensure all necessary equipment and supplies are available to meet customer expectations.
- A willingness to travel / work aboard (60% of the role will involve travel and overnight stays)
Essential skills
- Hold a FULL UK driving licence
- Proficient use of Microsoft Office -Word / Excel / Outlook
- Enhanced driving licences such as (ADR, FLT, CLASS1 CLASS 2) would be advantageous .
