Warehouse & Distribution Assistant – Birkenhead
Star International are looking to recruit warehouse and distribution assistants in both our Birkenhead and Southampton branches to support our distribution network throughout the UK, supplying vessels at ports by delivering chemicals, gases and lifesaving equipment that our customers need to sail safely.

The role
Our warehouse teams carefully prepare deliveries to be shipped either internally or via courier, ensuring our drivers have all the relevant documentation for the goods to be transported and any hazardous goods comply with DGSA standards.
Within the warehouse they will be responsible for following all processes to ensure COSHH risk assessments are adhered to.
- Monitoring goods in and goods out – handling all products with care and completion of documentation for traceability and compliance.
- Quarantining and checking product for signs of damage and reporting where appropriate.
- Working as part of the network across the UK branches including Falmouth and Glasgow to maintain accurate stock levels and supplies and minimise transport costs and improve efficiencies where possible.
- Working in a safe manner – abiding with all SOP and H&S practices including use of correct PPE where appropriate, driving company vehicles in compliance with company policy, and completing driver checks as per RHA vehicle app.
- Taking receipt of goods inward and ensuring cross reference to purchase order.
- Safe storage and handling of COSHH products in racking systems or storage locations within the warehouse.
This is a hands on physically demanding role.

- Willing to travel regularly throughout UK.
- Over 21 with full UK driving licence as travel is a fundamental part of the role and for insurance purposes.
- Clean criminal record – full security checks will be completed due to our client base.
- Full time; Permanent.
