Role Overview
We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Freelance Science Teacher to teach Upper Primary (P4–P6) and Lower Secondary (Sec 1–2) students. The ideal candidate will have strong subject knowledge, be able to simplify complex scientific concepts, and deliver engaging lessons that build both conceptual understanding and examination skills aligned with the Singapore MOE Science curriculum and PSLE / Lower Secondary standards. Experience teaching international students transitioning into Singapore schools will be highly advantageous.
Key Responsibilities
- Plan and deliver engaging Science lessons for Upper Primary (P4–P6) and Lower Secondary (Sec1–2) students.
- Teach in small-group class settings.
- Explain scientific concepts clearly using structured explanations, examples, and visual demonstrations.
- Support students in developing scientific reasoning, answering techniques, and exam strategies.
- Provide bilingual explanations (English & Mandarin) when necessary to support international students.
- Develop and adapt worksheets, assessments, and teaching materials aligned with the MOE Science syllabus.
- Track student progress and provide constructive feedback to students and parents.
- Maintain a supportive, motivating, and structured learning environment.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Science, Education, or a related field.
- Prior experience teaching Upper Primary or Lower Secondary Science.
- Familiarity with the Singapore MOE Science curriculum and PSLE requirements.
- Bilingual proficiency in English and Mandarin (spoken and written) is a must.
- MOE / NIE-trained teachers are strongly encouraged to apply.
- Strong classroom management and communication skills.
- Passionate about working with young learners and helping them succeed academically.
- Able to conduct in-person classes and online lessons when required.
