Star Destiny Education (SDE) is a subsidiary of Star Destiny Group, an education consultancy and academic support organisation dedicated to supporting international students studying in Singapore. We specialise in AEIS Preparatory Programmes and academic support courses for Primary and Secondary students, helping learners adapt to Singapore’s education system and achieve success in local schools. Our programmes focus on developing strong foundations in Mathematics, English, and critical thinking, equipping students with the skills and confidence required to excel academically.
Role Overview
We are seeking a dedicated Freelance Primary Mathematics Teacher to join our teaching team. The ideal candidate should be passionate about the Maths subject, experienced in breaking down complex concepts into simple explanations, and capable of guiding students—especially those from international backgrounds.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver Mathematics lessons for Primary and/or Secondary level students based on the Singapore MOE syllabus / Cambridge IGCSE.
- Prepare and conduct lessons that support students’ understanding of mathematical concepts, problem-solving techniques, and heuristics.
- Provide academic support for students preparing for the Admissions Exercise for International Students (AEIS) where applicable.
- Prepare lesson materials, worksheets, and assignments to support classroom learning.
- Monitor student learning progress and provide constructive feedback to students and the Academic Team.
- Generate periodical learning progress reports to parents.
- Adapt teaching methods to support international students transitioning from overseas education systems.
- Conduct lessons either online or in-person depending on programme requirements.
- Participate in periodic academic meetings or training sessions organised by the centre.
Requirements
- Related qualification in Mathematics, Education, or a related field.
- Prior teaching or tutoring experience in Singapore and/or IGCSE Primary or Secondary Mathematics curriculum is preferred.
- Familiarity with the MOE and/or IGCSE Mathematics syllabus and/or AEIS examination format will be advantageous.
- Strong ability to explain mathematical concepts clearly and effectively.
- Good communication and classroom management skills.
- Professional, responsible, and committed to delivering quality teaching.
- Experience teaching international students will be an advantage.
- Ex-MOE teachers or NIE-trained educators are encouraged to apply.
