Well established transport company specialising in the overnight national distribution of temperature controlled fresh produce to wholesale fruit and vegetable markets. We are looking to recruit a Class 1 depot shunter for our busy distribution facility in Staplehurst, Kent.
Duties include:
- Conducting daily equipment checks, immediately reporting any defects and/or damage.
- Carrying out shunting duties including relevant maintenance and safety checks.
- Moving empty and loaded trailers/vehicles on and off of loading bays.
- Liaising with the warehouse supervisors to ensure smooth and efficient vehicle loading/unloading.
- Set/check/operate fridge units on trailers, refuel if required.
- Maintain log of trailer movements/load sheets.
- Monitoring servicing & MOT requirements of vehicles & trailers.
- Effectively managing own working time in line with the Road Transport Directives.
- Observing & ensuring yard is in clean/tidy condition.
Qualifications/Requirements:
- Possess valid LGV (C+E) Class 1 Licence.
- Possess valid Digital Tachograph Card.
- Possess valid Driver CPC Card.

- Relevant experience in a similar role.
- Effective team member demonstrating excellent work attitude who works well on their own initiative.
- Willing to assist with loading/unloading if required.
- Positive attitude.
- Flexible to work hours in line with requirements of the business.
