Stanwell Road Surgery is a friendly and rapidly growing GP practice in South West London. We are a young, forward-thinking team of five GP Partners caring for over 9,000 patients.
We are looking to welcome an experienced Practice Nurse to join our vibrant, supportive team. We are looking for 2 days a week -Wednesday and Friday 8am to 5pm.
Main duties of the job
Clinical duties may include (but are not limited to):
- Managing patient health and carrying out basic observations
- Child and adult immunisations, including baby vaccines
- Cervical smears
- ECGs, phlebotomy, urinalysis, and blood pressure checks
- Wound care, dressings, removal of sutures/clips, and foot checks
- Routine and travel vaccinations, routine injections, contraception, and health screening
- Advising patients on health promotion, diet, lifestyle, and minor ailments
- Supporting chronic disease management (e.g. diabetes, asthma, COPD, hypertension)
- Assisting with minor procedures and IUCD/IUS fittings

You will have the opportunity to upskill and further train in spirometry and other innovative procedures we offer at the practice.

Qualifications
- Qualified Nurse
- NMC Registered
- EMIS Competent
- Able to perform: ECG, Child and Adult Immunisations, Cervical Smear Testing, and Chronic Disease Reviews
Experience
- Previous experience working as a Practice Nurse in a GP surgery
- Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team
- Organised, reliable, and flexible approach to work
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Commitment to high-quality, safe, and patient-centred care
- Awareness of local and national health priorities (e.g. NHS Long Term Plan, vaccination programmes)
- Understanding of population health management and health inequalities
- Leadership or supervisory experience within a nursing team
- Proactive in developing new services or suggesting improvements
- Adaptability to new technology and digital tools
- Enthusiasm for innovation and supporting practice growth
