Tax Accountant

Full-Time On-site
S

I am currently working with a fast-growing, international business that is looking to hire an experienced Tax Accountant on an initial 3-month contract.

This is a great opportunity to join a lean finance team and take ownership across UK and international tax compliance, working closely with external advisors and the wider Finance function.

The Role

You will support the Group Tax Manager across a broad range of tax activities, with a particular focus on coordinating global tax compliance and ensuring deadlines and submissions are managed effectively.

The role would suit someone who is comfortable working in a fast-paced environment, managing multiple priorities and working with both internal stakeholders and external tax advisors.

Key Responsibilities

  • Coordinate and track global tax compliance activities across the Group
  • Act as a key point of contact for external tax advisors, ensuring deliverables are received accurately and on time
  • Prepare and undertake initial reviews of direct and indirect tax submissions across the UK and international entities
  • Support with corporation tax provisions and returns alongside the annual accounts and audit process
  • Prepare monthly tax accounting entries
  • Review intercompany recharges and ensure alignment with transfer pricing methodology
  • Support tax requirements associated with international expansion, including registrations and filings
  • Assist with R&D tax credit applications
  • Provide support across wider tax projects, including transfer pricing, tax losses, corporate structure optimisation, M&A and intercompany financing
  • Work with the wider Finance team to streamline processes and identify opportunities for automation

About You

The successful candidate will ideally have:

  • Experience working within a corporate tax environment or tax practice
  • Strong knowledge of corporation tax, with indirect tax experience desirable
  • Experience coordinating tax compliance activities and working with external advisors
  • A recognised accounting or tax qualification with post-qualification experience
  • Strong Excel / Google Sheets skills and confidence working with complex data
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Strong organisation skills and the ability to manage multiple deadlines simultaneously
  • A pragmatic, hands-on approach and the ability to work effectively within a lean team
  • Experience with Sage X3 would be advantageous but is not essential
