Role: Senior Business Analyst

Location: London (with potential travel)

Hybrid: 2-3 days working in the office

Salary: £70 000 – £85 000 + benefits

About the Role: We are currently working with a successful legal business, seeking a Senior Business Analyst to enhance their operational efficiency, streamline processes, and align business functions with the firm’s strategic objectives. This role is crucial in implementing improvements that increase value for our internal teams and clients.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead Analysis: Manage analysis on complex initiatives, develop plans, and mitigate risks.
  • Research & Analysis: Understand business operations, identify improvements, and assess change impacts.
  • Requirements Management: Gather, document, and manage requirements throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Stakeholder Engagement: Liaise between stakeholders, IT, and development teams, ensuring alignment and effective communication.
  • Best Practices & Mentorship: Develop best practices, mentor junior analysts, and stay updated on industry trends.

Planning, Shaping, and Problem Solving:

  • Experience in shaping the BA approach for complex initiatives.
  • Ability to provide insights for project timelines and resource needs.
  • Skilled in defining problem statements from business information.

Problem Solving and Analysis:

  • Enhanced problem-solving skills for complex business issues.
  • Proficient in investigative techniques to understand problems.
  • Experienced in using BA tools for root cause and impact analysis.

Requirements Gathering and Management:

  • Skilled in elicitation techniques to identify pain points and requirements.
  • Experience in leading workshops with large stakeholder groups.
  • Proficient in documenting requirements (Waterfall/Agile) and tracking them.

Methodologies/Ways of Working:

  • Significant experience in Waterfall and Agile/Scrum projects.
  • Strong understanding of Agile/Scrum concepts for managing BA tasks.

Business Process Modelling:

  • Experience in mapping AS IS and TO BE processes using Visio or similar tools.
  • Familiar with BPMN 2.0 notation.
  • Capable of using Lean/Six Sigma tools to analyse and improve processes.

Communication, Collaboration, and Stakeholder Management:

  • Clear verbal communication with stakeholders at all levels.
  • Ability to produce high-quality written presentations for senior management.
  • Effective in cross-functional teams and diverse stakeholder environments.
  • Builds strong relationships to drive collaboration and influence decisions.
  • Experienced in resolving conflicting stakeholder needs.

System, Data Modelling, and Analysis:

  • Skilled in high-level system analysis for initiatives.
  • Understands data models and can create simple representations.
  • Proficient in analysing large data sets to identify trends.
  • Experienced in using Excel for data analysis and finding insights.

Experience in professional service would be desirable along with certification in business analysis (BCS or IIBA).
