Role summary

Reporting into senior leadership, this is a high-visibility role with exposure to board-level stakeholders, investors, and external advisers. The successful candidate will play a critical role in driving M&A activity, supporting transaction readiness, and delivering insightful financial analysis to underpin strategic decisions and long-term value creation.

Key Responsibilities

  • M&A and Corporate Development
  • Support buy-side M&A activity, including financial modelling, valuation and due diligence processes
  • Develop and manage a pipeline of acquisition targets aligned with strategic priorities
  • Coordinate with external advisers and internal stakeholders throughout transaction execution
  • Contribute to integration planning and post-deal performance tracking
  • Transaction Preparation (Sell-Side Readiness & Buyside)
  • Prepare high-quality investor materials, including financial data packs, presentations and data room content
  • Ensure the accuracy and consistency of financial and operational information
  • Collaborate cross-functionally to gather and validate key business data
  • Market and Competitor Analysis
  • Conduct market research and competitor analysis across relevant sectors
  • Develop actionable insights to support M&A and strategic initiatives
  • Produce benchmarking and industry intelligence to inform decision-making
  • Strategic Finance and Reporting
  • Deliver clear, insightful financial analysis for senior leadership and board reporting
  • Translate complex financial data into actionable recommendations
  • Support refinancing activities and engagement with lenders and investors
  • Monitor and analyse key performance indicators and internal metrics

To Be Suitable

  • Strong financial modelling and valuation capability, ideally gained in M&A, corporate finance, transaction services or investment banking
  • Demonstrable experience supporting transactions or strategic finance initiatives
  • Highly analytical with strong attention to detail and problem-solving ability
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to influence senior stakeholders
  • Advanced Excel and PowerPoint skills
  • Sector experience within infrastructure, construction, housing or services is advantageous but not essential
  • Commercial mindset, proactive approach, and ability to operate in a fast-paced, deal-driven environment
  • Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities effectively
