Role Summary: This is a high-profile role within the Group Finance function, reporting directly to the Group Financial Controller. The position sits at the centre of an evolving finance function, supporting the move towards a more centralised and streamlined operating model across a complex international group. The role combines core financial accounting responsibilities with exposure to group consolidation and major finance transformation initiatives. It requires an individual who can operate independently, bring structure to complexity, and proactively improve processes. You will work closely with UK and international finance teams, gaining exposure to senior stakeholders and playing a key role in strengthening the group finance function.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Own month-end accounting activities, including preparation of management accounts and balance sheet reconciliations.
  • Support group consolidation and statutory reporting across a complex, multi-entity structure.
  • Manage intercompany accounting, ensuring accurate balances, funding flows, and reconciliations.
  • Take ownership of head office accounting across multiple entities.
  • Support systems change.
  • Work closely with the Group Consolidation team to improve reporting quality and timelines.
  • Help simplify and standardise processes across a decentralised finance function.
  • Support stronger controls, governance, and visibility across accounting and compliance.
  • Contribute to finance transformation initiatives and system implementations.
  • Collaborate with tax, treasury, FP&A, and external stakeholders.

Qualifications:

  • Fully qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, or equivalent).
  • Experience in a large, complex, multi-entity organisation.
  • Strong month-end and financial accounting experience.
  • Exposure to group consolidation and statutory reporting.
  • Experience with intercompany accounting.
  • Ability to improve and simplify processes in a changing environment.
  • Experience with ERP systems or finance transformation is desirable.
  • Proactive, self-starter with the ability to work independently.
  • Strong attention to detail with a practical, problem-solving mindset.
