Stanton House is exclusively supporting a large, international services business with the appointment of an Interim Group Accountant on an initial 12-month contract.
The organisation (£600m revenue & PE-backed) is currently investing heavily in its finance function, reporting capability and broader transformation agenda. This is an excellent opportunity to join a complex, multi-entity environment and play a key role within a high-performing Group Finance team.
The Opportunity
Reporting to the Senior Manager, Group Finance, you will support the delivery of high-quality group reporting, consolidations, technical accounting and financial analysis across a large international group structure.
This role offers significant exposure to senior stakeholders and will suit an individual who enjoys combining strong technical accounting expertise with commercial insight, stakeholder engagement and process improvement initiatives.
The successful candidate will be comfortable working within a complex organisation, taking ownership of deliverables and operating across multiple legal entities and jurisdictions.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare accurate and timely group financial reporting, supported by robust analysis and commentary.
- Support the preparation of consolidated financial statements across a large multi-entity group.
- Perform consolidation activities, including intercompany eliminations and consolidation adjustments.
- Prepare technical accounting papers and provide support on IFRS reporting matters.
- Analyse financial performance, identifying key trends, risks and commercial drivers.
- Partner with stakeholders across the business to ensure appropriate accounting treatment and reporting outcomes.
- Review and enhance reporting processes, controls and governance frameworks.
- Support ongoing finance transformation and systems improvement projects.
- Deliver ad hoc analysis and project work for senior finance leadership.
About You
The successful candidate will be a qualified accountant with strong technical accounting and group reporting experience, ideally gained within a large and complex corporate environment.
- ACA, ACCA or equivalent qualified accountant.
- Ideally trained within a Big 4 or Top 10 practice environment.
- Strong IFRS reporting and group consolidation experience.
- Experience preparing consolidated financial statements across multiple entities.
- Excellent technical accounting knowledge and ability to communicate complex issues clearly.
- Experience improving reporting processes, controls and efficiency.
- Strong analytical and stakeholder management skills.
- Comfortable operating within a fast-paced and evolving environment.
- Experience within a multinational, asset-intensive or highly regulated environment would be advantageous.
