Currently seeking an experienced Interim Financial Reporting Accountant to join a growing professional services business during a critical transition period. Reporting into the Finance Controller, this role will provide hands-on support across financial reporting, month-end close, subsidiary accounting, and group consolidation activities. This position offers the opportunity to work within a complex international structure spanning multiple jurisdictions while supporting a growing, purpose-led organisation.

Key Responsibilities

  • Own and support the month-end close process across UK and European entities.
  • Prepare and post journals, accruals, prepayments, and other month-end adjustments.
  • Manage financial reporting activities for UK and overseas subsidiaries.
  • Support group consolidation and reporting requirements.
  • Administer and maintain revenue recognition calculations in accordance with IFRS 15.
  • Reconcile and manage intercompany balances across multiple jurisdictions.
  • Assist with the preparation of management accounts and financial reporting packs.
  • Liaise with external accounting providers supporting international entities.
  • Coordinate with local auditors and support year-end audit processes.
  • Support statutory reporting and compliance obligations where required.
  • Work closely with finance leadership to ensure continuity during team transitions.
  • Contribute to process improvements and documentation where appropriate.

Candidate Requirements

  • Essential: ACA or ACCA qualified.
  • Strong technical financial accounting and reporting experience.
  • Proven experience managing month-end close processes.
  • Experience preparing journals, reconciliations, and management accounts.
  • Strong understanding of IFRS, particularly IFRS 15 revenue recognition.
  • Experience supporting group consolidations and intercompany accounting.
  • Ability to work independently in a hands-on reporting role.
  • Strong stakeholder management and communication skills.
  • Desirable: Experience within professional services, consulting, advisory, or project-based businesses.
  • Experience working with multi-entity and international group structures.
  • Exposure to overseas subsidiaries and cross-border accounting arrangements.
  • Previous interim or contract experience.
  • Experience using Xero or similar cloud-based accounting systems.
