Stanton House has partnered with a boutique financial‐services consultancy seeking a Senior Consultant with a strong mix of risk domain expertise and hands‐on data capability to support major banking and insurance clients. This role suits professionals who enjoy working at the intersection of risk, data, and regulation, and who are comfortable translating complex analytics into clear business insights for senior stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities

  • Data & Analytics
    • Perform data analysis and data mining on large financial‐services datasets
    • Work hands‐on with structured data to support analytical investigations and reporting
    • Use SQL, SAS, and other analytical tools to interrogate, manipulate, and analyse data
  • Risk‐Focused Problem Solving
    • Solve industry‐specific problems within banking and insurance environments
    • Apply subject‐matter knowledge of financial services and risk to interpret analytical outputs
    • Support analytical work related to credit, risk, and financial data
  • Systems, Data & Delivery
    • Conduct business analysis and document requirements
    • Produce functional and technical documentation for large system implementations
    • Contribute to the design and delivery of management information, reports, and dashboards
    • Support work involving data management and risk data across client systems
  • Stakeholder Engagement
    • Compile clear, structured reports and presentations
    • Engage with senior stakeholders and clients to communicate findings and progress
    • Work collaboratively within consulting teams to meet delivery objectives
  • Development
    • Continuously develop technical, analytical, and industry knowledge relevant to risk and data‐focused consulting

Required Experience & Qualifications

  • 2+ years' experience in financial services
  • Subject‐matter knowledge of banking and/or insurance
  • Strong analytical capability and attention to detail
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills

Relevant Experience (Strongly Desirable)

  • SQL for querying and analysing large datasets
  • SAS for data preparation, analysis, or reporting
  • Experience working with data management or risk data tooling
  • Exposure to data governance or data cataloguing tools, such as Informatica Axon or Collibra
  • Familiarity with risk or regulatory reporting platforms, such as Axium
  • Awareness of risk data aggregation and reporting principles (e.g. BCBS 239)
  • Depth across all tools is not required; a strong core in risk systems with exposure to data analysis is expected.
