An exciting opportunity has arisen for a commercially driven and strategically minded Chief Financial Officer to join a newly launched buy and build platform in the Cybersecurity & Professional Services sector. Backed by a successful private equity fund with a proven track record, the business is set to acquire and scale a group of complementary businesses across the UK and internationally.
With plans to complete over 30 acquisitions in the next five years, the aim is to build a market‐leading group. This is a rare chance to shape a high‐growth, private equity‐backed business from inception and play a critical role in its strategic direction and execution.
The Opportunity:
As CFO, you will take full ownership of the finance function from day one, overseeing everything from systems, reporting and compliance to M&A, integration planning and investor relations. You'll also take on broad operational responsibilities to deliver the growth strategy, making this an exciting opportunity for someone who is highly motivated to build a business.
The Ideal Candidate:
- Experience in technology‐led professional services; ideally cyber, but alternatively in people‐based businesses with a strong understanding of key metrics such as utilisation, margin, and time tracking.
- Proven M&A experience across the full deal lifecycle, from pre‐deal assessment to acquisition and integration, ideally within industry, though advisory backgrounds will also be considered.
- Demonstrated experience leading transformation projects, including implementation of new systems or processes.
- Operational and strategic expertise, with a clear track record of commercial leadership beyond financial control.
- Experience in both smaller and larger businesses, with the flexibility to be hands‐on and manage broader responsibilities.
- Strong interpersonal and influencing skills, with the ability to adapt style and approach to different stakeholders.
- Strong leadership capability, with a track record of building and managing lean, effective teams.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement the financial strategy to support rapid growth and international expansion.
- Build best‐in‐class financial processes, controls, and systems.
- Lead budgeting, forecasting, financial planning and analysis.
- Manage M&A activity, including due diligence, valuation and integration.
- Oversee preparation of financial reporting, board packs and fund reporting.
- Ensure compliance with all financial regulations and risk management frameworks.
- Build and develop a high‐calibre finance team aligned with the growth trajectory.
