A well-established and fast-growing UK-based organisation operating within the industrial and commercial sector is seeking an experienced Interim Senior Financial Accountant to support its finance function during a critical reporting period.

This is an excellent opportunity for a technically strong, qualified accountant to step into a high-impact role within a fast-paced environment, working closely with senior stakeholders and external partners.

The Role

Reporting into senior finance leadership, you will take ownership of statutory and regulatory reporting, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and timely delivery. You will also act as a key liaison with external stakeholders, including shareholders and auditors.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Preparation and review of statutory financial statements in line with IFRS
  • Leading the external audit process and acting as the primary point of contact for auditors
  • Managing month-end and quarter-end close processes
  • Supporting group tax reporting by coordinating inputs for corporation tax returns
  • Delivering insightful analysis on financial performance, including balance sheet reviews and impairment assessments
  • Supporting dividend processes, including board-level reporting and compliance
  • Acting as a key contact for shareholder reporting queries
  • Identifying and mitigating risks relating to financial misstatements
  • Contributing to process improvements and strengthening internal controls

Candidate Profile

  • Fully qualified accountant (ACA / ACCA or equivalent)
  • Minimum 3+ years’ post-qualified experience
  • Strong technical accounting knowledge, particularly IFRS and statutory reporting
  • Proven experience managing audits and dealing with external stakeholders
  • Highly proactive with the ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong analytical skills and attention to detail
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
  • Experience within regulated industries (e.g. energy or financial services) is advantageous but not essential
