Stanton House are exclusively partnering with a leading public sector services organisation to appoint a Senior Finance Business Partner within a complex and operationally critical division. This is a high impact, commercially focused role supporting a multi-million portfolio of contracts, operating in a workforce driven environment. This is not a traditional finance role. It is an opportunity to operate at the heart of the business, influencing contract performance, driving margin improvement, and shaping strategic decision making across a geographically dispersed operation.

The role:

  • You will act as a senior commercial partner to operational and leadership teams, supporting the performance of multiple contracts and driving value across workforce, facilities, and service delivery.
  • Alongside core financial responsibilities, you will be heavily involved in:
    • Partnering with senior stakeholders to influence strategic and commercial decisions
    • Driving margin improvement across complex, low margin contracts
    • Leading workforce optimisation initiatives (overtime, attrition, resource planning)
    • Supporting contract negotiations, extensions, and performance reviews
    • Delivering insight led analysis to improve operational and financial outcomes
    • Identifying value leakage and delivering cost optimisation initiatives
    • Enhancing financial governance and supporting decision making through data and insight
    • Playing a key role in transformation and continuous improvement initiatives

This is a hands on role, working closely with Finance Business Partners and operational teams, with a focus on solving complex commercial challenges rather than managing large teams.

What we are looking for:

  • Qualified accountant (ACA / ACCA / CIMA)
  • Proven experience as a Senior Finance Business Partner in a commercial, contract driven environment
  • Strong track record of driving margin improvement and influencing business performance
  • Experience working in workforce heavy or operational environments (for example logistics, facilities, healthcare, infrastructure)
  • Strong commercial acumen with the ability to influence negotiations and outcomes
  • Experience partnering with senior stakeholders in complex organisations
  • Strong communication, storytelling, and stakeholder management capability
  • Resilient, proactive, and comfortable dealing with ambiguity and change

Why this role?

  • High visibility role partnering directly with senior leadership
  • Opportunity to influence contract performance and operational strategy
  • Exposure to complex, large scale public sector contracts
  • Genuine scope to drive commercial improvement and transformation
  • Hybrid, flexible working with limited travel requirements
  • Join a business undergoing change with strong leadership and clear direction
