This is an outstanding opportunity to join a market-leading business with revenues exceeding £900 million. You will play a pivotal role in shaping financial strategy, planning, compliance, and operational leadership across a major UK division.
The Opportunity:
- As Financial Controller, you will be a senior member of the finance function, leading a team of 11 and overseeing monthly reporting, business planning, and statutory compliance.
- You will also partner closely with divisional and executive leadership.
- This strategic role focuses on financial governance, FP&A, risk management, and performance improvement across a large, operationally diverse business unit.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead monthly reporting, forecasting, budgeting, and long-term planning for a business unit generating over £450 million in revenue.
- Ensure a strong financial control environment and full compliance with US GAAP and internal standards.
- Oversee statutory accounts, internal and external audits, and tax submissions, working in collaboration with shared service centres.
- Serve as deputy to the Finance Director, representing finance in cross-functional and board-level meetings.
- Collaborate with operations, strategic accounts, and regional leadership to deliver insights and drive performance.
- Manage and develop a team of Finance Managers and Contract Accountants.
- Drive improvements in financial systems and reporting processes, including SAP.
Candidate Profile:
- Fully qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA) with at least six years of post-qualification experience.
- Experience within a large, multi-site, B2B or service-oriented organisation.
- Proven track record in financial leadership, team management, and strategic reporting.
- Strong understanding of controls, compliance, audit, and tax requirements.
- Commercially astute with excellent stakeholder management and influencing skills.
- Experience with SAP or equivalent enterprise systems is highly desirable.
