Interim Financial Controller – Exciting Marketing Business
A Marketing Business in the North West is seeking an experienced Interim Financial Controller to take ownership of overall financial control and implement a robust framework to support the next phase of growth. This role offers a day rate of ÂŁ500 (IR35 to be determined, likely outside), with hybrid working.
This is a hands‑on role requiring someone who can quickly embed structure, drive visibility, and provide clear, actionable reporting to senior stakeholders and shareholders.
Key Responsibilities:
- Establish and strengthen the overall financial control framework
- Develop and manage a detailed daily cashflow model with forward‑looking projections
- Full ownership of the company\’s P&L reporting
- Ensure VAT compliance
- Oversee payroll, including employment checks, PAYE and Employer NI contribution reviews
- Creditor management and cash optimisation
- Build and implement clear lead performance indicators and sales forecast KPIs
- Translate KPIs into a structured weekly action plan with measurable deliverables
- Deliver detailed weekly reporting to shareholders
- Establish and embed a business balanced scorecard
- Able to look at complex data, organise, analyse and draw meaningful insights to support informed decision‑making.
About You:
- Qualified accountant (ACA / ACCA / CIMA or equivalent)
- Proven Financial Controller experience within SME environments
- Strong commercial acumen with the ability to link financial data to operational performance
- Hands‑on, detail‑oriented, and comfortable operating at both strategic and transactional levels
- Available immediately or on short notice
