We are partnering with a high-growth, PE backed international technology business to appoint an experienced Financial Controller on a 12-month fixed-term contract to cover maternity leave.

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced finance leader to take ownership of financial reporting across multiple EMEA entities within a fast-paced, global organisation.

Working closely with senior finance leadership, you will oversee month-end reporting, statutory compliance, audit delivery, and support continuous improvement initiatives across the finance function.

This role would suit a technically strong Financial Controller who is comfortable operating in a complex, multi-entity, multi-currency environment and is confident partnering with stakeholders across international finance teams.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the monthly, quarterly and year-end financial close process across multiple EMEA entities.
  • Ensure timely and accurate management reporting in line with US GAAP.
  • Review and approve balance sheet reconciliations, journal entries and key accounting judgements.
  • Deliver insightful variance analysis and commentary for senior stakeholders.
  • Maintain strong financial controls and ensure reporting accuracy across the region.
  • Statutory Reporting & Audit
  • Manage the preparation of statutory financial statements under IFRS.
  • Lead external audit processes across several legal entities.
  • Act as the primary finance contact for auditors, ensuring an efficient and timely audit process.
  • Ensure ongoing compliance with local statutory and regulatory requirements.
  • Tax & Payroll
  • Support payroll accounting, including review of payroll journals and accruals.
  • Prepare employment tax submissions, including PAYE Settlement Agreements (PSA) and employment-related securities reporting.
  • Partner closely with internal tax specialists to support corporation tax reporting and transfer pricing requirements.
  • Process Improvement
  • Identify opportunities to enhance financial controls, reporting processes and month-end efficiencies.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives across the finance function.
  • Support finance transformation projects where required.
  • Leadership & Business Partnering
  • Provide coaching, guidance and technical support to members of the finance team.
  • Build strong relationships with stakeholders across finance and the wider business.
  • Support senior finance leadership with ad hoc projects and business initiatives.

About You

We're looking for an experienced Financial Controller who combines strong technical accounting expertise with a collaborative and commercially minded approach.

You'll ideally bring

  • ACA, ACCA or CIMA qualification.
  • Significant post-qualified experience within industry.
  • Strong technical knowledge of both US GAAP and IFRS.
  • Experience operating across multiple legal entities and currencies.
  • A proven track record of managing month-end and year-end close processes.
  • Experience leading statutory audits and external audit relationships.
  • Excellent analytical skills and attention to detail.
  • Strong communication skills with the confidence to influence senior stakeholders.
  • A proactive mindset with a passion for improving finance processes. Previous experience managing or mentoring finance professionals.

Experience gained within a PE backed international technology, software, Saa S or other fast-growing multinational businesses would be highly advantageous.
