Stanton House is partnering with a highly successful, Private Equity-backed global information and data services business. Following significant growth, including a major M&A transaction, our client was acquired last year by a market leading Private Equity fund. With strong revenues and EBITDA, the business is poised for its next phase of expansion, with ambitions to become a £1bn+ enterprise value platform. To support this exciting trajectory, they are looking to appoint a Finance Business Partner.

This role will work closely with operational teams, providing financial insight and strategic support to drive business performance. This is a fantastic opportunity for a qualified professional with post-qualification experience in commercial finance or FP&A to join a high-growth company at a pivotal moment, following new private equity investment. The successful candidate will play a key role in shaping the business’s direction while collaborating with a broad range of stakeholders.

Key Requirements:
  • ACA / ACCA / CIMA qualified, with PQE in a commercial finance/FP&A role
  • Able to demonstrate close collaboration with operational teams, including examples of contributing to performance.
  • Ownership of budgeting and forecasting for customer facing areas of the business, including associated costs
  • A background in a commercial organisation, ideally in a subscription business
  • Driving commercial decisions in partnership with stakeholders
  • Commercially minded with a desire to build a strong understanding of our products and services
  • A pro-active thinker and problem solver who will drive initiatives forward with creativity and pragmatism
  • Good communicator who is comfortable and confident building rapport and having difficult conversations in a collaborative and constructive way, along with addressing a variety of audiences
  • Ability to deliver in a fast-paced environment and multitask, prioritise and see things to conclusion
  • Strong commercial acumen, gravitas and the ability to confidently operate with senior stakeholders, managing relationships and influencing decisions
  • An appropriate blend of being able to work independently but also know when and how to ensure upwards stakeholders are kept in the loop
  • Comfortable spending most of their time embedded in and working with parts of the business
  • Strong excel skills and ability to transform discussions around plans and strategies into tangible business cases/financial plans
Key Responsibilities:
  • Overall responsibility for providing commercial finance support to operational functions
  • The successful candidate will be an essential and highly valued partner, meaning they will be extremely well integrated into these parts of the business
  • Leading budgeting and quarterly reforecasting for specific areas, including all associated revenues and costs.
  • Be able to explain trading and operational performance for their areas on a monthly basis, including providing month end commentary for the senior finance team, and support the teams they are working with on driving operational performance
  • Development and ongoing management of KPI’s and other performance metrics including sales pipelines for both growth and retention revenue streams, sales productivity, customers retention rates, upsell and cross sell performance
  • Working with the Head of Commercial Finance to give performance updates to the leadership teams
