The Role

The function of the Commercial Finance Business Partner is to work closely with the Global Finance Business Partner in delivering a wide range of financial support across multiple commercial departments, and to lead financial planning, forecasting, and reporting requirements for the department and Group FP&A.

How You'll Make an Impact

  • Maintain an accurate view of the forthcoming sales pipeline (sales and profitability) and ensure this is accurately reported to the department and Group FP&A.
  • Complete monthly management reporting packs for commercial departments, providing clear commentary on financial performance, risks, and opportunities versus forecast.
  • Support the budgeting and forecasting cycle in partnership with the Global FBP, working closely with business managers, department heads, and Group FP&A.
  • Deliver timely and accurate reporting of financial results, including insightful commentary on key performance drivers.

Commercial Support

  • Provide analysis to support strategic decision-making, including margin trends by region, value band, product/category segmentation, and performance versus competitors.
  • Support evaluation of commercial deal structures, pricing decisions, and post-sale offers.
  • Calculate and report on revenue upside opportunities and associated risks.
  • Run scenario modelling and where required, detailed break-even analysis to support transaction decisions.
  • Support understanding of sales and profit contribution by individual business units or teams.
  • Undertake cost-benefit analysis to ensure efficient allocation of resources across the department.
  • Ensure accuracy of sales and departmental general ledger actuals, reviewing results in detail and recommending accruals or month-end adjustments where required.
  • Support cost control initiatives through variance analysis and identification of potential overspends.
  • Promote a strong financial control environment, ensuring appropriate revenue recognition and adherence to financial policies and processes.

What You’ll Bring to the Team

  • Accounting qualification or degree, ideally with 2–3+ years’ experience in a commercial finance / business partnering role.
  • Strong analytical mindset with high attention to detail and intellectual curiosity.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present financial information clearly to non-finance stakeholders.
  • Ability to prioritise effectively and operate in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
  • Strong relationship-building skills across finance and operational teams at all levels of seniority.
  • Proactive, independent thinker with strong problem-solving ability and a continuous improvement mindset.
  • Strong systems experience, ideally including ERP and performance management tools (e.g. JDE / Hyperion).
