We’re supporting a PE‑backed, high‑growth fintech in the appointment of an experienced Interim Finance Director to provide senior leadership across a critical period. This role will suit a hands‑on FD who is highly credible in financial control, comfortable operating at pace, and confident leading large, complex teams through year‑end and audit.
The Opportunity
As Interim Finance Director, you will provide leadership across two core areas of the finance function, with full ownership of financial control, reporting delivery and audit readiness. You will be responsible for:
- Leading a large and complex year‑end process, ensuring deadlines, quality and controls are met
- Owning and managing multiple timetables, dependencies and workstreams across Finance
- Acting as the senior point of contact for external auditors, confidently managing queries, expectations and delivery
- Demonstrating clear leadership across a Financial Control function, setting direction and maintaining high standards
- Managing up to senior leadership and stakeholders, while also leading and supporting teams at all levels
- Overall responsibility for a finance organisation of approximately 15–20 people
Essential experience:
- Proven experience leading a large, complex year‑end process in a regulated or fast‑growth environment
- Strong track record of managing audit processes and dealing directly with external auditors
- Demonstrated capability leading a Financial Control function at scale
- Experience managing senior finance leaders
- Ability to manage and align multiple teams, functions and geographies
- Comfortable managing up to C‑suite / Board‑level stakeholders, while also supporting teams below
- Able to operate effectively in a PE‑backed or fast‑growth fintech / financial services environment
