A professional services organisation is seeking an AI Enablement Lead on a 3-month contract to advise and guide its Finance function on the effective adoption of Microsoft Copilot and related AI tools. This role will operate as a hands-on internal consultant, supporting Finance leadership and teams in using AI to streamline processes, improve insight, and modernise ways of working. The emphasis is on practical, governed, and value-driven use of Copilot, ensuring the Finance function is positioned ahead of the curve rather than reacting to change.
Key Responsibilities:
- Advise Finance leadership on how best to deploy Microsoft Copilot to enhance finance and accounting activities.
- Identify high-impact finance use cases where AI can drive efficiency, insight, and improved decision-making.
- Translate AI capabilities into practical workflows aligned to existing finance processes.
- Bring proven experience of advising organisations on the adoption and use of Copilot within business functions.
- Recommend best-practice approaches that balance innovation with control, accuracy, and reliability.
- Provide pragmatic guidance on what AI should and should not be used for in a finance context.
- Define and document effective prompting techniques tailored to finance and accounting scenarios.
- Coach finance teams on how to interact with Copilot to achieve consistent, high-quality outputs.
- Develop reusable examples, guidance, and playbooks to support long-term capability.
- Establish clear AI usage and governance principles for the Finance function.
- Ensure AI-assisted outputs align with internal controls, audit requirements, and regulatory expectations.
- Partner with Technology, Risk, and Legal stakeholders to ensure responsible and secure AI use.
- Ensure frameworks, documentation, and guidance are in place to support ongoing use of Copilot beyond the contract.
- Leave the Finance function with clear standards and confidence in AI-enabled ways of working.
Skills & Experience:
- Demonstrable experience advising organisations on the adoption and effective use of Microsoft Copilot or comparable AI productivity tools.
- Strong understanding of finance and accounting processes and how AI can enhance them.
- Experience working in a consultancy, transformation, or advisory capacity.
- Ability to engage credibly with senior finance stakeholders.
- Solid understanding of AI governance, risk, and control considerations in a regulated environment.
- Background in finance transformation, operating model design, or process optimisation.
- Experience introducing new ways of working within established finance teams.
