We are partnering with a high-growth PE backed business to appoint a Group Financial Controller. Reporting directly to the CFO, this is a high-profile leadership opportunity offering significant exposure to executive stakeholders, finance transformation, strategic projects and future acquisitions.

The business operates across multiple international markets and is investing heavily in its finance function, systems and reporting capabilities to support its next phase of growth. This role offers the opportunity to shape best-in-class financial processes while building a scalable finance function within a fast-paced and collaborative environment.

The Opportunity

As Group Financial Controller, you will take ownership of the Group’s financial control environment, ensuring robust reporting, governance and compliance across multiple entities. You’ll lead a talented finance team while driving continuous improvement across systems, processes and controls.

This is an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys combining strong technical accounting expertise with commercial awareness and leadership in a dynamic, growth-focused business.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the monthly close process and Group consolidation across multiple international entities.
  • Deliver accurate and insightful reporting packs for the Executive Team, Board, lenders and investors.
  • Manage the year-end statutory accounts process and external audit.
  • Oversee complex accounting areas including intercompany transactions, revenue recognition, debt facilities and foreign exchange.
  • Maintain and strengthen financial controls, governance and compliance frameworks.
  • Drive ERP optimisation and finance systems improvements to support future growth and scalability.
  • Oversee cash management, balance sheet integrity, payroll approvals, VAT and working capital management.
  • Lead finance transformation initiatives, automation projects and reporting enhancements.
  • Partner with operational and commercial teams to improve financial insight and decision-making.
  • Develop, mentor and inspire the finance team, creating a culture of continuous improvement and accountability.

About You

We’re looking for a finance professional who combines strong technical capability with a proactive, hands-on approach;

  • ACA, ACCA or CIMA qualification.
  • Proven experience as a Group Financial Controller or within a senior financial leadership role.
  • Experience within a multi-entity organisation, ideally private equity-backed or high-growth.
  • Strong technical accounting knowledge and Group consolidation expertise.
  • Experience leading finance transformation, process improvement or systems implementation projects.
  • A collaborative leadership style with the ability to influence stakeholders across the business.
  • Strong commercial awareness and a continuous improvement mindset.
  • Experience within a B2B services environment would be advantageous but is not essential.

Why Join?

This is a rare opportunity to join a successful and ambitious business at an exciting stage of its growth journey. You’ll work closely with an experienced CFO, play a key role in shaping the finance function and gain exposure to strategic initiatives, business transformation and future acquisitions.
