The Opportunity

Join our 2027 Graduate Programme as a Graduate Civil Engineer in our Warrington office, where you will be involved in significant projects across our water division from day one, supporting both local and national work.

About The Role

As a Graduate Civil Engineer, you will join a Civils team supporting projects across the North West, with close links to teams in other offices supporting national schemes. The team covers the full scope of civil design and construction supervision across a range of projects, from site acquisition, pre-planning and concept design through to planning, tender, construction and the first year of operation. Project sectors include industrial, residential and municipal work, including logistics and distribution, manufacturing, data centres, masterplanning, education and healthcare.

Working as part of a friendly and collaborative project team, with support and guidance from Senior and Principal Civil Engineers, you will help solve engineering problems and support civil engineering design across all stages of project delivery. Your work will include producing calculations, drawings and technical documents, attending meetings and taking opportunities to visit construction sites.

Your core responsibilities include:

  • Supporting the civil engineering team across a wide range of project stages and sectors.
  • Producing engineering calculations, drawings and technical documentation.
  • Contributing to civil design work from concept and planning through to tender, construction and early operation.
  • Attending project and design meetings, contributing ideas and learning from experienced colleagues.
  • Taking opportunities to visit construction sites and build practical understanding of design delivery.
  • Developing your technical capability by learning a variety of civil engineering software and design approaches.

Please note, we ask our graduates to come into the office 4 days per week, to ensure that you receive sufficient time with your team and receive the appropriate level of support.

About you:

At Stantec, we value your potential over past experience. Along with your Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, we’d love to receive your application if you are:

  • An Adapter - You're able to remain calm in new and changing situations, comfortably switching between a variety of dynamic and exciting tasks.
  • A Perseverer - You stay composed in the face of setbacks, approaching challenges with confidence and determination.
  • A Collaborator - You work effectively with lots of different people, considering others’ perspectives to shape better outcomes.
  • A Problem-Solver - You love to give your thoughts based on what you see, being unafraid to challenge conventional thinking.

What we can offer you:

  • A competitive salary
  • Private medical insurance
  • A range of benefits, including holiday buy and sell, group income protection and life assurance
  • Permanent employment contract to demonstrate our commitment to your long-term career at Stantec
  • Professional progression plan, supporting you to become chartered with ICE.
  • A supportive and collaborative team environment and Early Careers peer group and wider ERG network.
