The Opportunity
Stantec is currently seeking an experienced EIA Coordinator at a Senior to Senior Associate level to join our team permanently. With offices across the UK, we offer a mix of home and office working to promote work–life balance and effective team collaboration. We encourage applications regardless of UK location. Our broad-based growth supports projects across multiple sectors, including major energy and infrastructure schemes. We are working on several exciting and innovative energy projects, including carbon capture and storage, renewable energy of all types and scales, hydrogen, and transmission & distribution. As we support some of the country’s most significant projects, we need a candidate whose ambition matches our own.
Responsibilities
At the Senior/Senior Associate level, your tasks will include supporting the planning and delivery of energy and infrastructure projects and advising our clients throughout the development lifecycle. You will manage EIA screening and scoping processes, and prepare Environmental Statements, reviewing technical input, and other environmental and planning-related reports. Associates and Senior Associates will support, guide, and have opportunities to lead projects, overseeing Environmental Impact Assessments and related reports. You will work with senior leaders to develop client relationships and support the development of junior team members. Additional responsibilities include contributing to proposals and bids, financial management of project work, and delivering a broad range of integrated environmental services.
About You
Strong environmental planning experience (EIA) with a preference for experience or interest in the energy sector, and either chartered or working towards chartership. Broad understanding of environmental issues and disciplines, knowledge of consenting regimes and development management procedures (Town and Country Planning & Planning Act, Hybrid Bill, etc.). Experience leading multi‑disciplinary teams, a track record of financial management of projects, and excellent communication skills at all levels. Ability to manage and mentor others; competency and flexibility to meet the demands of the role. Potential to work across all Stantec office locations, with full‑time or part‑time options available.
