Opportunity

We have an exciting opportunity to join our Programme Management discipline within our Advisory Services team in Energy, ideally based in London, Edinburgh or Glasgow, with travel as required. As a Senior Consultant, you will play a leading role in supporting the mobilisation, assurance and delivery improvement of major capital programmes across the UK energy sector. You’ll work at the heart of complex investment programmes, helping clients strengthen governance, controls, planning and delivery capability, while engaging closely with senior leadership teams and key stakeholders. Our Programme Management Group has a strong track record of delivering advisory and transformation services across the UK’s energy, water and transport sectors. As demand continues to grow, this role offers the opportunity to lead high‑value assignments, shape delivery approaches and contribute to the continued growth of our programme management capability.

Responsibilities

  • Leading programme management, PMO or governance workstreams on major capital programmes
  • Designing and embedding governance, controls, reporting and assurance frameworks tailored to client needs
  • Providing informed challenge and practical advice on planning, risk, issues, dependencies and change management
  • Supporting senior client stakeholders through performance reporting, decision‑making materials and governance forums
  • Mobilising and improving PMO capability, including ways of working, controls maturity and management information
  • Contributing to proposals, client presentations, thought leadership and wider business development activity
  • Supporting and developing junior colleagues within the team

Qualifications

You will have relevant experience in programme management, PMO, project controls or capital delivery, gained within a consultancy environment or working on large‑scale infrastructure programmes. You will hold a degree or equivalent professional experience in a relevant discipline such as Project Management, Business Management, Engineering, Science or Technology. You are analytical, commercially aware and delivery‑focused, with the ability to bring structure and clarity to complex programme environments. You can confidently engage with senior stakeholders, facilitate discussions and clearly communicate insights and recommendations through high‑quality written and visual materials.

  • Strong stakeholder engagement, communication and presentation skills
  • Experience working in fast‑paced, dynamic environments and balancing multiple priorities
  • Advanced skills across the Microsoft Office suite, particularly in producing reports, presentations and decision‑support materials
  • A proactive, collaborative approach and a desire to take on meaningful responsibility

Professional Accreditation

Professional accreditation such as APM, MSP, P3O, PRINCE2 or equivalent would be advantageous, and we actively support continued professional development and accreditation.
