Your Opportunity: As part of the Prairies and Territories Infrastructure Business Center, the Roads and Highways Manager reports directly to the Operations Lead (BCOL) and leads developing, managing, and expanding the operations and practice of the Roads and Highways team to serve the project delivery needs of the Infrastructure Business Operating Unit (BOU). This includes supporting the supervisors in recruiting, developing, and assigning qualified individuals to Infrastructure and other BOU projects. The Manager will have responsibility for training and career development of their direct reports in conjunction with BOU strategic direction. The Manager will have a critical role in promoting a culture of collaboration, technical excellence, and blended project teams. The Manager will be responsible for overseeing the staff in offices across Manitoba, Saskatchewan, Alberta, Yukon, Northwest Territories, and Nunavut.

Your Key Responsibilities: The Roads and Highways Manager’s responsibilities include, but are not limited to the following:

• Essential Functions:
• Responsible for strong client relationship management, focus and business development collaboration.
• Ensures Health, Safety, Security and Environment (HSSE) have the highest priority in all activities.
• Executes project work in their assigned project role, at a high level of proficiency with a reputation of high quality and budget and schedule compliance.
• Collaborate with BCOL and other Team Leads to recruit, retain, mentor, and coach project managers.
• Identifies overall goals and establishes priorities for their group in conjunction with their direct reports.
• Facilitates team meetings and connects with individual team members as needed to promote employee engagement, continuous improvement, and technical growth.
• People Leadership:
• Act as a highly regarded leader, thought partner, and a source of counsel and advice for their team.
• Be personally involved in key client relationships, strategic project pursuits, and major project leadership within the team.
• Responsible for team members’ development and guidance, including monitoring and evaluating performance, and providing coaching for high performance.
• Client Focus and Business Development Collaboration:
• Responsible for exceeding client expectations through strong account management across the region.
• Achieve minimum client- and proposal-specific marketing and business development (M&BD) sales goals.
• Lead and participate in pursuits and campaigns for major opportunities for the region.
• Project Delivery:
• Assists discipline team members, as required, with proactive project setup.
• Oversee delivery from planning and concept development through detailed design, tender, and construction support.
• Drive consistent PM practices and procedures in alignment with Stantec PM requirements.
• Quality and Risk:
• Works closely with the BCOL, continually reviews discipline quality and adherence to processes on project deliverables.

Education and Experience: Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering, with preference for individuals with a Master’s degree. Licensed Professional Engineer (P.Eng.). Minimum of 15 years of related work experience preferred. Position will primarily work in an office setting; may require some field work.
