The Opportunity
Stantec is actively involved in the design and management of major projects, principally for water industry clients. In particular, Stantec has recently been awarded on Yorkshire Water’s Storm Overflow Alliance which will require the modelling and design of a range of wetland, storage, and screening solutions.
We are trusted by our clients to ensure the successful delivery of major projects across the UK. Our ongoing success is creating opportunities for existing employees and has also created this opportunity for a Project Manager or Senior Project Manager to join our team, with experience of managing design projects.
The role will be based at our office in Leeds with hybrid working, allowing for a combination of in-office and home working.
As a Project Manager you will have a key role to ensure the successful delivery of major projects. You will take overall responsibility for all aspects of project delivery, working with technical teams, clients, and Stantec’s operational management to enable the delivery of design services within a multi-disciplinary design & build (D&B) environment. You will work collaboratively with some of the industry’s leading design teams and optimally involve our client and other partner organisations to achieve successful outcomes. You will create a positive environment and lead the team to deliver best value and client service excellence.
Our D&B projects are exciting environments that involve the need for effective identification and adoption of innovative process and techniques that deliver sustainable solutions. Our Major Projects community will support you and provide access to Stantec’s world‑class expertise to provide cutting edge delivery. We will support the development of you and your career to achieve your ambitions.
This is a great opportunity to join a part of our business with huge growth potential to make a real positive difference to the water industry. This opportunity will appeal to those looking to work collaboratively to drive continuous improvements and best practice, and to exceed client expectations. Our UK & Ireland business continues to grow at an impressive pace – this is a great time to join and help develop a mature project delivery offering.
About You
You will have prior demonstrable experience of working in roles where you have provided leadership on major projects in consultancy or contracting companies – preferably as a Project Manager, but otherwise as Design Manager, Project Engineer or Project Leader. You will most likely be from a technical background – either technical engineering, construction management, environmental or other consulting backgrounds.
You will hold qualifications in engineering or project management with a deep understanding of large and complex construction / engineering projects. You will also need to possess strongly demonstratable commercial and contractual acumen and understanding of NEC contracts.
Through your previous roles within project delivery, you will have experience of achieving a position of trusted partner with clients and other stakeholders and acting as a mentor for less experienced team members. At all times you will support, promote and maintain our company values, especially in ensuring we put our people & clients first.
