Opportunity to join Stantec’s growing Advisory Services talent pool ready for future opportunities and help shape the successful delivery of some of the UK’s most significant energy infrastructure programmes. We are looking to connect with experienced project delivery professionals who are passionate about improving how major capital projects are planned, governed, and delivered. This role can be based in any of our UK offices, with particular interest in candidates located in London, Birmingham, Bristol, Newcastle, Glasgow, or Edinburgh, with travel as required.
At Stantec, we provide advisory services across business transformation, engineering, digital delivery, project management, and programme management. Our Advisory Group has a strong track record of supporting some of the UK's largest capital investment programmes across the Energy, Water, and Transport sectors. As our client portfolio continues to grow, this is an exciting opportunity to join a collaborative team helping organisations deliver better outcomes on complex infrastructure programmes.
About the Role
As a project delivery focused advisory Senior Consultant within our Advisory Services team, you will work closely with clients across the full project lifecycle, helping them develop, strengthen, and optimise project delivery capabilities across major capital programmes. You will support clients from the earliest stages of project definition and option selection through design development, procurement, construction, commissioning, and handover. Drawing on your project delivery expertise, you will help organisations improve governance, enhance delivery processes, and implement effective controls that drive successful outcomes.
Your role will involve advising on project delivery models, strengthening design management and technical assurance arrangements, improving change and risk management processes, and supporting effective stakeholder engagement across multidisciplinary delivery teams. You will also provide guidance on the practical application of NEC contract processes and contribute to the development of robust commercial, performance, and governance reporting. Alongside client delivery, you will support broader business improvement and transformation initiatives, helping organisations embed new processes, delivery tools, digital systems, and capability‑building programmes.
As part of Stantec’s wider Advisory community, you will have opportunities to expand your skills across multiple service lines while contributing to knowledge sharing and the development of junior colleagues.
Your Impact
In this role, you will help clients improve the way major infrastructure programmes are delivered, creating more effective, efficient, and resilient project environments. By reviewing and enhancing delivery processes, governance structures, and operating models, you will enable organisations to make better decisions, manage risks more effectively, and deliver projects with greater confidence. Through your expertise in project delivery, design management, governance, commercial management, and stakeholder engagement, you will help clients navigate complex challenges across the project lifecycle.
Your ability to identify opportunities for improvement and translate them into practical solutions will directly contribute to stronger programme performance and improved project outcomes. You will also play an important role in driving positive change, helping organisations adopt new ways of working and build the capabilities required to deliver increasingly complex investment programmes. Ultimately, your work will support the delivery of critical infrastructure projects that benefit communities, drive economic growth, and support the UK’s transition to a more sustainable future.
About You
You are an experienced project or programme delivery professional with a passion for improving project performance and helping clients solve complex challenges. You bring a practical understanding of major capital projects and enjoy working collaboratively with stakeholders to drive meaningful improvements.
You Will Bring
- Experience supporting the delivery of major capital projects or infrastructure programmes, ideally within the energy, water, transport, or other regulated sectors
- A background in project management, programme management, PMO, project delivery, design coordination, or advisory services
- A strong understanding of the project lifecycle, from project definition and design development through procurement, construction, commissioning, and handover
- Experience with project governance, risk management, change control, reporting, decision‑making processes, and performance management
- Strong stakeholder management and communication skills, with the ability to engage effectively with clients, contractors, suppliers, and multidisciplinary teams
- The ability to analyse complex information and develop practical, actionable recommendations
- Strong Microsoft Office skills and experience preparing reports, presentations, and management information
Desirable Experience Includes
- Design management, technical assurance, requirements management, or interface management
- Experience working with NEC contracts, including early warnings, compensation events, programme submissions, payment processes, and contractual reporting
- Experience with project controls, data analysis, reporting, or digital delivery tools
