As a Principal Structural Engineer, you will be leading the delivery of high-quality structural input to major projects and programmes across our extensive portfolio of water frameworks. Projects will be varied, but include the design of water retaining concrete structures, dams / reservoirs, concrete and steel buildings, site inspections and assessment of existing structures.
You will also be required from time to time to undertake site surveys, field investigations, condition surveys and feasibility studies and to prepare technical reports.
As a senior member of our Structural Engineering community, you will be called upon to act as a mentor to less experienced colleagues. There will also be the opportunity for you to lead on growing and developing a team around you, both through the development of existing team members and through recruitment.
You will have prior experience of working within a senior Structural Engineering role, with the ability to lead and carry out structural design for a variety of concrete, steel, and masonry structures. You will also have experience of the design of water retaining structures.
In addition to your structural design experience, you’ll have a good knowledge of civil and geotechnical engineering, and an awareness of mechanical and electrical engineering sufficient to enable collaborative working with these other disciplines.
You will have experience of structural engineering software such as Tedds Staad.PRO, Robot Structures or similar FEM analysis software, and have experience working within a 3D design environment.
