The transmission and distribution sector is rapidly transforming against a backdrop of growing demand, regulatory changes, ambitious carbon reduction targets, and new innovations in technology. Due to continued growth, we are open to speaking with experienced HV Cable Design Engineers for future opportunities. We are exploring future opportunities aligned with our growth across ideally Principal/Senior Engineer levels in our Energy Team.
This team offers involvement in a wide variety of projects across various technical disciplines with clients nationwide. Projects may include HVDC, interconnectors, wind farms, substations, OHL, geotechnical solutions, building design, protection systems, LVAC, FEED, new builds, refurbishment works, and connection schemes. The role involves working as part of the Cable team on electrical substation design, major renewables, HVDC interconnectors, offshore grids, FEED design, etc. You will collaborate closely with other disciplines, supporting or leading projects. Experience with key T&D clients in the UK is preferred.

About You
You are a proactive individual with knowledge of the electricity transmission and distribution industry. You can coach and work effectively within a wider energy team. Ideally, you hold a Bachelor's/Master's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field from an accredited institution and are a Chartered Engineer with the Engineering Council and ICE. Experience as a civil substation engineer with awareness of other HV civil projects is also preferred.
- Experience in design (Concept, FEED, detail) of transmission & distribution systems for utility companies based on international standards.
- Ability to coordinate across disciplines and resolve design issues collaboratively.
- Practical knowledge of cable design, including routing, trenchless sections, bonding, phasing, pulling, and jointing.
- Experience with CYMCAP software for cable sizing based on international standards.
- Ability to handle challenging workloads with short-notice changes.
- Proficiency in MS Outlook, Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint), AutoCAD or MicroStation.
