As a result of recent successes and the development of new projects and clients, Stantec is looking to recruit a Principal Mechanical Engineer into our Energy & Resources team. This role can be based in any of our UK offices, ideally reachable from the Midlands.

Working as part of our Waste and Generation Team, you will have an opportunity to work on projects including EfW plants, district heating, gasification, hydrogen generation, and biogas projects. You will be involved in the entire project lifecycle, from feasibility to detailed design and installation, collaborating with clients, partners, and team members to develop designs and solutions across Stantec’s Energy and Resources sector. We prioritize HSE matters and foster a culture of safety and continuous improvement.

About You

You should have experience in Mechanical Engineering or a related field, preferably with energy/power sector experience, and be either chartered or working towards it. You will produce technical specifications, support collaborative design outputs, and communicate technical updates effectively. Experience in creating specifications, scoping documents, and assessing vendor designs is preferred.
