The Opportunity

This is a fantastic opportunity for a Senior / Principal Civil Engineer to join a thriving group with a proven track record of delivering innovative projects across the South‑East and beyond. Our Reading team plays a crucial role in our regional delivery, and we can offer hybrid and flexible working options to ensure you enjoy a work‑life balance that suits you.
You will have the chance to work on a diverse range of projects, contributing to significant developments across the region and beyond. As well as leading our own projects, you will collaborate closely with our building, environmental, and transport colleagues to deliver holistic solutions. As a Senior / Principal Civil Engineer, you will join a close‑knit team where you will have the opportunity to lead and mentor our junior engineers and technicians. You will take responsibility for leading the technical delivery and approval of projects, as well as reviewing the work produced by our team. You will play a key part in delivering high‑quality design projects on time and within budget, working closely with our clients to influence the development of infrastructure schemes in the region. About You
You will be an MEng/BEng qualified. You are a tactical thinker focused on achieving coordinated solutions and effective at communicating with both internal and external parties (e.g., utility companies, drainage authorities, highway authorities). Ideally, you will have expertise in highway and drainage infrastructure design to deliver multi‑disciplinary projects across their entire lifecycle – from concept and planning through to detailed design and delivery. You will have a proven record of delivering projects closely with clients across various technical disciplines and experience mentoring and managing the workload of junior team members. Skills with Civils 3D, InfoDrainage, and utility coordination are advantageous. Crucially, you will bring a passion and experience for delivering quality infrastructure design solutions and managing processes with regulators and local authorities.
