The Opportunity
We’re looking for a Principal or Senior Geo Environmental Consultant to join our Northampton team as part of our Midlands Geo Division. This is an opportunity to become part of a close‑knit, collaborative team where everyone’s voice is valued and ideas are actively encouraged.
About the Role
You’ll take a leading role in the design, implementation and management of geo‑environmental projects across a wide variety of sectors, including major developments, logistics, data centres, schools, prisons and residential schemes.
Responsibilities
- Deliver and manage geo‑environmental assessments including desk studies and ground investigations
- Produce and review factual and interpretative reports
- Undertake human health, groundwater and ground gas risk assessments
- Prepare remediation method statements
- Support project management, including client liaison and financial oversight
- Contribute to fee proposals and business development
- Mentor and support junior team members
- Prepare and check detailed risk assessments, including CLEA‑based human health risk assessments, BS8485‑compliant ground gas assessments and RTM‑compliant controlled waters risk assessments
Qualifications
- BA/BS in environmental science, geology or engineering (or equivalent)
- Chartered status as an Environmentalist, Geologist or Engineer, or working towards it
- Strong experience in ground investigation, interpretation and reporting
- Proven ability to produce clear, concise and technically robust reports
- Experience reviewing others’ work and ensuring compliance with guidance and client requirements
- Proficiency in qualitative and quantitative risk assessment
- Professional accreditations such as RSoBRA or ASoBRA in areas like Human Health Risk Assessment, Ground Gas or Controlled Waters are desirable
