We are recruiting Senior Fire Engineers across the UK to lead complex projects, mentor teams, and shape best practice within our Buildings team.
About the Role
- Provide fire strategies for diverse portfolios including healthcare, education, commercial, residential, life sciences, and regeneration projects.
- Offer expertise throughout project stages – concept design, detailed design, construction, handover.
- Oversee fire & smoke modelling (CFD), evacuation modelling and smoke control strategies.
- Ensure all solutions comply with relevant regulations and standards (ADB, BS 9991, BS 9999, NFPA, EN guidelines).
- Lead major bids and complex multidisciplinary schemes as Technical Lead.
- Build strong relationships with clients, architects, developers, contractors and authorities.
- Lead client meetings, technical workshops and regulatory consultations.
- Champion fire‑safety integration across internal teams.
- Identify new market opportunities and support business growth.
- Mentor junior Fire Engineers towards IFE/CEng status.
- Promote a culture of technical excellence and knowledge sharing.
Qualifications
- Degree in Fire Engineering or related discipline (MEP, Structural, Building Services with fire specialism).
- Chartered Engineer (CEng) or working towards, with IFE or equivalent.
- Experience producing fire strategies for complex buildings.
- Proficiency in FDS, PyroSim, Pathfinder or similar modelling tools.
- Strong communication skills, able to present technical matters clearly to clients.
- Experience in a consultancy environment on multidisciplinary projects.
- Proactive, collaborative mindset aligned with Stantec values.
