Position Overview

Senior or Principal Mechanical Engineer – Building Services (MEP)
Location: Manchester or Leeds

Join the Stantec Building Services team as an experienced Mechanical Engineer responsible for leading multidisciplinary MEP projects from concept through detailed design, delivering high‑quality outputs on schedule and within budget.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and mentor junior engineers, supporting chartership routes.
  • Contribute to innovation, process improvement, and technical excellence initiatives.
  • Assist with team management activities such as resource planning, line management, and quality assurance.
  • Lead all aspects of the project, including project team, deliverables, resourcing, programme and budget.
  • Produce detailed design to required standards, including design calculations.
  • Champion an inclusive, supportive culture and maintain clear communication with clients and external design teams.

Qualifications and Experience

  • A relevant qualification (Bachelor's or Master’s in Mechanical Engineering or related field).
  • A proven background in Building Services design, gained from working in a consultancy business.
  • Experience across multiple sectors, with a preference for healthcare and/or education.
  • Proficiency with BIM processes, including Revit and IES.
