Our Advisory Services team sits at the heart of Stantec’s work across the UK energy sector, supporting clients as they deliver some of the largest and most complex capital investment programmes in the country. With continued growth across our Water, Energy and Transport portfolios, we now have an exciting opportunity for a consultant to join our team—ideally based in London, Birmingham, Glasgow or Edinburgh, with travel expected.

As a consultant within our Advisory Services team, you will play a key role in supporting clients to build capability and deliver major investment programmes. Your work will span a broad range of programme and PMO activities, including:

  • Developing, implementing and managing PMO processes and systems
  • Supporting planning and scheduling, analysing financial, commercial, risk and performance data, and providing programme level assurance
  • Preparing financial and performance reports for senior management and boards
  • Managing stakeholder relationships across the PMO and wider organisation
  • Supporting benefits management throughout the project lifecycle
  • Coordinating governance and assurance activities
  • Working with the leadership team on internal initiatives, including resource planning, financial management, proposal development and business development

You will work closely with colleagues across our advisory frameworks, helping clients strengthen their capability to deliver large scale capital programmes. Our Advisory service line spans capability building, programme management, PMO services, engineering, sustainability consulting and technology systems—giving you the opportunity to explore different pathways and shape your own development.

As part of Stantec’s advisory community, you will have access to a wide range of training, networks and development opportunities to support your growth.

In this role, you will help clients deliver programmes that shape national infrastructure—programmes that influence how communities access energy, water and transport for decades to come. Your ability to bring structure, insight and clarity to complex environments will directly support better decision making, stronger governance and more efficient delivery.

You will become a trusted partner to clients, helping them understand performance, navigate risks, manage benefits and embed processes that improve how their organisations operate. Whether analysing data, coordinating stakeholders or supporting leadership teams, your work will contribute to the smooth running of major programmes and the long term capability of the organisations behind them. Your impact will be felt not only in the outcomes of individual projects, but in the confidence, capability and resilience you help build within client teams.

We would love to hear from you if you have experience working in a consultancy environment supporting clients with major capital programmes or managing consulting projects. Ideally, you will also have (or be working towards) a relevant professional accreditation such as APM, MSP Practitioner, or PRINCE2.

You Will Bring:

  • Curiosity, creativity and a drive to find innovative ways to improve processes
  • Strong stakeholder management and communication skills
  • The ability to interpret and articulate data analysis clearly
  • Proficiency in the Microsoft Office suite
  • Sharp attention to detail and strong presentation skills
  • A willingness to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment
  • A desire to learn, grow and contribute to a collaborative consulting team

Benefits:

  • Competitive salary and bonus schemes
  • Enhanced pension plan
  • Annual leave with the option to buy or sell additional days
  • Private medical insurance
  • Group income protection and life assurance included as standard
  • Discounted gym membership and additional perks
  • Hybrid / flexible working model for a healthy work-life balance
