Key Responsibilities
- DevOps
- Develop and maintain ETL, data model, and reporting standards.
- Provide regular updates and communications on development and operational support activities including status updates, and setting priorities.
- Assist with the maintenance of existing Analytical UX and dashboards that support the business that leverage the Data Warehouse.
- Support the administration of ETL components of development and production data warehouse reporting environments.
- Assist with general Enterprise DW database maintenance activities as required.
- Architecture
- Provide subject matter expertise and support the creation of architectural and technical deliverables.
- Design, develop, and implement data warehouse and BI solutions leveraging:
- Enterprise data warehouse models
- Oracle Data Integrator (ODI)
- Oracle Business Intelligence Applications (OBIA) mappings and Oracle BI Repository (RPD) modeling
- OAS/OAC (Oracle Analytics Server/ Oracle Analytics Cloud) dashboards and analytics components
- Assess and document the impact of enhancements and customizations.
- Participate in architecture reviews, code reviews, and planning sessions.
- Ensure alignment with enterprise architecture and integration patterns.
- Provide configuration, environment setup, and performance optimization.
- Data Engineering
- Develop data designs and scripts for new projects of moderate to high complexity.
- Execute hands-on ETL and BI development delivery tasks, specifically; ETL job development, technical data model design, and development.
- Ensure data quality through thorough testing and validation of new or updated analytical subject areas.
- Design dimensional and relational structures optimized for reporting and analytics.
- Build and maintain data integrations from multiple operational systems.
- Create summarization, aggregation, and reporting logic for high‑volume datasets.
- Collaboration and Stakeholder Management
- Engage with cross-functional work teams including Finance, HR, Projects, etc. to enhance understanding of the subject areas.
- Analyze and troubleshoot tool, data, and access issues by collaborating with the Support Management team.
- Manage the stakeholder expectations on what can and cannot be incorporated into the BI subject areas and help them make the best use of the presentation layer of the subject areas.
- Security and Data Governance
- Enforce data governance policies, ensuring compliance with data privacy regulations and implementing application roles or LDAP groups to control access to the dashboards.
- Implementing row level security when appropriate or required to ensure users access only the data they are authorized to view.
- Additional Duties
- Develop structures and standards for use and maintenance of the Oracle-based data warehouse and surrounding BI tools and infrastructure.
- Define and enforce database design and management standards with the database administrator and document new and existing database systems and procedures.
- Provide performance tuning guidance and advice for database systems for query and data loading performance, including data partitioning, indexing, etc.
- Identify opportunities to improve or extend frameworks and standards.
- Participate in code reviews.
- Support programming policies, procedures, and quality assurance best practices as it relates to business intelligence.
Our ideal candidate:
- Strong expertise in ETL development, ideally with Oracle Data Integrator (ODI) or similar enterprise ETL tools (e.g., Informatica, DataStage, SSIS).
- Solid understanding of data warehousing concepts, including dimensional modeling, data integration patterns, and data pipeline design.
- Advanced SQL skills and hands‑on experience with Oracle relational databases.
- Background in database development, including performance tuning, stored procedures, and schema design.
- Experience working with BI and analytics tools, with preference for Oracle Analytics Server (OAS) or Oracle Analytics Cloud (OAC).
- Analytical mindset with strong problem‑solving abilities and experience diagnosing and resolving data/ETL issues.
- Attention to detail and a commitment to data quality, ensuring reliable, trusted insights for stakeholders.
- Ability to translate business requirements into effective technical solutions, with a strong understanding of how data enables business outcomes.
- Knowledge of Oracle E‑Business Suite (EBS) modules—including Projects, HRMS, GL, FA, AP, AR, PO—and their data structures or integrations (considered as an asset).
- Strong communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively with business users, technical teams, and leadership.
- Experience working in Agile environments and contributing to iterative development cycles (preferred).
- 8+ years of application or data solution development experience, ideally in enterprise environments.
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or a related field.
