We are seeking a BIM Manager, contributing to development and delivery of BIM best practices and process improvement.

You will also act as SME for design modeling software use and set up best practices; provide user support and training and assist multidisciplinary teams to ensure expectations are clear and scope is defined for successful project execution and client satisfaction. Your core focus will be to provide leadership, technical expertise, and consistency of product and process in support of design delivery.

Our team regularly collaborates on projects across North America. The successful candidate should be comfortable working and collaborating on a variety of different projects with team members across North America. We are seeking an enthusiastic, self-motivated, team player that is excited about taking on a new challenge. While the successful candidate will be based in one of our offices across Canada, we do offer flexible hybrid work from home/office arrangements.

Your Key Responsibilities

  • Acts as liaison for BIM related subject matter both internally and externally.
  • Influences, implements, and supports interdisciplinary standards and process improvements related to digital project delivery.
  • Provides direction and assistance to project teams with project scope, approach, setup, and delivery including the develop and implementation of BIM Execution Plans (BXP), model matrices, and other supporting digital scope documentation for each project.
  • Develops families and other electronic content in collaboration with the greater digital practice team to ensure consistency and efficiency.
  • Reviews projects to ensure quality and cohesion in accordance with firm or client standards.
  • Evaluates and recommends BIM related technologies.
  • Creates and leads regular end user support and training.
  • Communicates corporate initiatives and standards.
  • Provides in-house BIM support.
  • Work with Consultant and Subconsultants to assure that they have implemented the most current BIM/CAD standards.
  • Maintain software template files to assure standards.
  • Enforce company drafting and modeling standards and procedures.
  • Review the input received from client and understand the scope of work and then plan work accordingly as per agreed scope and requirements.
  • Prepare 3D models and detailed drawings in Revit of proposed plans, facilities, and infrastructure in Revit/AutoCAD with minimal supervision.
  • Coordination with other Disciplines Designers, Engineers, and Architects as applicable.
  • Participation during the construction phase to maintain adherence to the design intent, quality standards, and contract documents including reviewing shop drawings and submittals, responding to requests for information, preparing observation reports, and completing other tasks associated with the construction phase.

Your Capabilities and Credentials

As the successful candidate you will possess the following:

  • Strong communication skills, along with excellent interpersonal and organizational abilities and a willingness to work in a team atmosphere.
  • Highly organized, have significant attention to detail, are able to prioritize multiple tasks and demonstrate a flexible approach to work assignments.
  • Experience with MS Office Suite including Word, and Excel, MS Teams, and SharePoint.
  • Experienced in CAD/BIM software Civil 3D and/or Revit.
  • Experienced in Common Data Environments ACC and/or ProjectWise.
  • Experience in following considered an asset: Bentley Open Applications, Autodesk ACC and ProjectWise, Navisworks or ITWIN, AI and chatbot technology.

Education and Experience

An Engineering Technology Diploma, Degree or equivalent technology diploma + experience. Experience and familiarity with municipal, urban development and water resources disciplines and/or an education background in these areas. BIM Manager Certification from accredited institution or equivalent BIM industry experience. 7+ years of related industry experience (minimum 5+ with BIM technologies), and a comprehensive knowledge of CAD/BIM software.

Pay Range:

  • Locations Outside of Lower Mainland - BC & Various locations in Ontario - $96,800.00 - $145,200.00 Annually
  • Locations in Lower Mainland - BC - Min Salary $99,600.00 - Max Salary $149,500.00

Pay Transparency: In compliance with pay transparency laws, pay ranges are provided for positions in locations where required. Please note, the final agreed upon compensation is based on individual education, qualifications, experience, and work location. At Stantec certain roles are bonus eligible. Actual compensation for part-time roles will be pro-rated based on the agreed number of working hours per week.
