The Opportunity
Stantec’s HR Talent Services team is looking for an experienced UK & Ireland Immigration Consultant to join our collaborative, people‑focused, and high‑performing group of subject matter experts. This role plays a key part in shaping the employee experience by supporting our UK & Ireland Immigration Practice and partnering closely with employees, managers, Talent Acquisition, Global Mobility, HR Business Partners, and our external immigration provider.
You will oversee the day‑to‑day management of employment‑based immigration processes across the UK and Ireland, ensuring timely and compliant handling of visa applications, renewals, and settlement pathways. Acting as the primary point of contact for immigration queries, you will guide applicants through each stage of their case, liaise with our external immigration partner, and ensure all stakeholders receive accurate, timely information.
This role also includes conducting internal and external audit support, managing the relationship and service delivery of our immigration partner, processing invoices, and maintaining robust records and governance. You will contribute to continuous improvement by streamlining processes, enhancing documentation, and supporting communication strategies that keep the business informed of immigration updates and regulatory changes. You will also provide reporting, support education initiatives, and offer backup assistance to Global Mobility colleagues across the region.
About You
You bring deep knowledge of UK and Ireland immigration legislation, with the ability to assess case facts and provide informed preliminary guidance. You are confident influencing decisions, navigating sensitive matters with discretion, and building strong relationships across diverse stakeholder groups. You thrive in a fast‑paced environment, are highly organised, detail‑focused, and able to manage competing priorities with minimal supervision. You maintain confidentiality, demonstrate sound judgement, and bring a proactive, solutions‑oriented mindset to your work.
Ideally You Will Have
- Bachelor’s degree in HR, Business, or a related field, or equivalent experience
- Experience in a technical UK/Ireland immigration role (in‑house or consultancy)
- Strong communication, organisational, and stakeholder‑management skills
- Experience working within structured compliance frameworks and handling sensitive data
- Ability to support process improvement, reporting, and programme development
