The Opportunity

We’re looking for a Graduate Building Physics Engineer to join our progressive, award‑winning Mechanical & Electrical Engineering team in our Leeds office, joining our 2026 Graduate Programme, where you’ll be delivering sustainable projects for our communities, planet and society. This is a fantastic opportunity to join a team which specialises in the delivery of building services, energy and sustainability services, where we offer a fresh approach by getting involved early, working collaboratively with the design team, guiding design development and using our expertise to help clients make key decisions – an approach that always results in a building that delivers.

Our Building Physics Engineers contribute technical expertise to building performance and energy modelling projects across the UK. You will work closely with multi‑disciplinary teams to optimise building performance and deliver practical, low‑carbon design solutions. As a Stantec graduate, you will collaborate with your team and wider cohort, developing your expertise within an exciting and creative interdisciplinary environment and will benefit from strong support from both office and technical colleagues, as well as significant guidance from senior staff within our open and collaborative culture.

Your Role

  • Working on live projects from the start in a variety of sectors from healthcare to education
  • Mechanical services design and calculations
  • Working with supervisors on scheme design concepts
  • Using Revit and 3D BIM modelling software in design production
  • Design co‑ordination with other professional disciplines
  • Producing detailed designs and drawings
  • Input into or development of energy and sustainability strategy and dynamic thermal modelling
  • Participating in design team and client meetings
  • Undertaking site visits or surveys
  • Researching and implementing new technologies
  • Continuous CPD and learning opportunities

Your typical work might include Heating, Ventilation, Air Conditioning and Control Systems, above‑ground drainage systems and hot and cold‑water services.
