Overview
Graduate Mechanical Engineer (Energy) – Redditch/Newcastle – 2026 – join Stantec’s 2026 Graduate Programme in the Energy team, based in Redditch or Newcastle.
Responsibilities
- Provide support in all areas of Mechanical Engineering in the development of efficient technical solutions.
- Be involved in the whole project life cycle from optioneering through to detailed design and installation, including feasibility studies, site surveys and investigations.
- Work across the energy and resources sector, including iconic hydropower and pumped storage schemes, conventional and advanced thermal power generation, recycling systems and mining and minerals.
- From traditional advisory and owners engineer roles, contribute to the EPCM (Engineering, Procurement and Construction Management) and design services sectors for major new build projects, such as plastics recycling, renewables power generation and complex treatment/production facilities.
- Participate in all stages of the project lifecycle, from concept development and FEED through detailed design, procurement, construction and commissioning. We also provide refurbishment and optimisation advice and design services.
About You / Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or Engineering Design (minimum).
