Overview: This role focuses on flood risk management, river engineering and water management projects, with involvement from concept through construction. The work emphasizes sustainable designs and Nature-based Solutions, with collaboration across multidisciplinary teams to meet client requirements.
Duties:
- Development and delivery of flood risk, river engineering and water management schemes.
- Design of structures including outfalls, sluices, culverts, river walls and weirs to appropriate codes and standards.
- Option appraisal to develop economic and sustainable solutions.
- Development of construction details and specifications.
- Collaborate with CAD Technicians to produce drawings that clearly convey technical information.
- Site visits to familiarise with projects, undertake asset condition inspections and supervise construction works.
- Contract preparation, administration and site supervision.
- Project coordination, client liaison and financial budget control.
- Supervision of junior staff and mentoring.
About You: You will be confident liaising with colleagues and clients at all levels and able to organise your workload across multiple projects. The ideal candidate will be a positive and enthusiastic team player, with a BEng/MEng in Civil Engineering and Chartered status (or working towards). Experience and understanding of AutoCAD and Microsoft Office; other relevant software packages. Experience in civil engineering specification for the water industry (CESWI) and NEC construction contracts would be beneficial but is not essential. Ability to demonstrate experience, competency and flexibility to meet role demands.
