This is a highly visible and influential role that sits at the centre of our brand, client engagement and business development activity. From major industry conferences and sponsorships to client events, exhibitions, office openings and internal marketing events, you'll ensure every opportunity is strategically assessed, expertly delivered and aligned to clear business outcomes.
You'll also play a unique role in shaping event management best practice across the wider global business, acting as a trusted advisor and champion for colleagues in emerging markets.
As Events & Conferences Manager, you'll oversee the full lifecycle of event activity, from initial opportunity assessment and business case development through to delivery, measurement and post-event reporting. Working closely with marketing, communications, PR, digital, creative, business development and operational leaders, you'll manage event programmes that strengthen our market presence, deepen client relationships and support strategic growth objectives.
You'll coordinate delegate and speaker programmes, manage sponsorship opportunities and supplier relationships, oversee budgets and expenditure, and ensure all event communications, materials and brand assets are delivered to the highest standard. The role also takes ownership of Stantec's merchandise and event materials programme, including management of our internal merchandise store and associated supplier relationships.
You'll help position Stantec at the forefront of the markets we serve by creating high-quality events and experiences that showcase our expertise, strengthen client connections and enhance our reputation. Through effective planning, stakeholder engagement and commercial oversight, you'll maximise the value of event investment and ensure every activity contributes to measurable business outcomes. Your reporting and evaluation processes will provide clear insight into performance, enabling informed decisions on future investment and opportunities.
Beyond the UK&I, you'll help establish and share event management best practice across the global business, supporting colleagues in developing consistent, high-quality approaches to conferences, sponsorships and client engagement activities.
You'll be an experienced events professional with a proven track record of delivering corporate events, conferences, exhibitions, sponsorships and client engagement programmes within a complex organisation. You will have a willingness to travel both around the UK with some potential international travel.
You Will Bring:
- Experience planning and delivering large-scale conferences, exhibitions, sponsorship programmes and corporate events.
- Strong project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities, stakeholders, suppliers, budgets and deadlines simultaneously.
- Experience coordinating delegates, speakers, sponsorship deliverables, event communications and post-event reporting.
- Commercial awareness and confidence managing budgets, forecasts and expenditure while balancing quality, value and business impact.
- Excellent relationship-building skills and the ability to work effectively with senior leaders, business development teams, marketing, communications, PR, digital and creative specialists.
- A qualification in events, marketing, communications, hospitality, project management or a related discipline, or equivalent practical experience.
You'll be highly organised, proactive and solutions-focused, with the confidence to take ownership. Above all, you'll be passionate about creating memorable experiences that enhance Stantec's brand, strengthen client relationships and deliver lasting value.
